Title: Pelco 53 Jr. Post by: BONOVOX on February 12, 2015, 07:42:56 pm Thanks to MaineT for getting me in contact with a Facebook seller of this cooler.
I made the deal with her thinking (based on the very close up pictures that she sent me) that it was a standard Pelco cooler (Pelco Model 108)... so I gave her a medium offer for the cooler based on a price of a rare quikold standard. She countered for 100 more, I agreed  The deal was done, but I asked if she had other pictures, and she took a pic of the ID at the bottom of the cooler... and sure enough, it was the Jr. version. It's an embossed Pelco Model 53 (Junior) My wife actually picked it up for me in Buffalo (Who knew that I could actually get her to pick up coolers for me! lol.... she had shopping to do in Buffalo so....) The cooler is still wrapped up, will check it out tomorrow... but I'm pretty sure the lids are not original to the cooler.... Seller told me they are some type of cheap plastic lids.... Plus on the Jr. model, only one lid came with the cooler. This cooler is the same size as a quikold Jr, except that it is 2" wider (front) than a Jr. Depth and Height are the same Title: Re: Pelco 53 Jr. Post by: Jim on February 12, 2015, 07:48:16 pm Very Nice ! ! !

Title: Re: Pelco 53 Jr. Post by: Slider-Bob on February 12, 2015, 08:18:45 pm Nice find Ed! You are on a roll...I need to learn how to convince my wife to pick up machines for me.
What's your secret??? Title: Re: Pelco 53 Jr. Post by: BONOVOX on February 12, 2015, 08:23:32 pm There is a company in Buffalo that is free to join, and I get my Ebay and Amazon stuff sent there.... 5 bucks a package and they hold it for a month... 2 months, 10 bucks etc.... so my wife heads down about once every month or so to pick things up etc... so this time I said... HEY, I have something for me to pick up... I gave her some cash, and she was please with that lol.
I don't think I can get her to go picking or waking up at 3am to drive 8 hrs each way to pick up a rusty machine lol Title: Re: Pelco 53 Jr. Post by: Slider-Bob on February 12, 2015, 08:29:25 pm I don't think I can get her to go picking or waking up at 3am to drive 8 hrs each way to pick up a rusty machine lol We have plenty of those here  Stop on by  Title: Re: Pelco 53 Jr. Post by: MaineT on February 12, 2015, 09:04:10 pm Glad it worked out!!

I'm looking for any odd brand quickold junior especially an rc nesbitts or Dr pepper There is a section on here called Swap Meet area where things will be listed and sold. Looking for odd brand quikold juniors may be a tall order for a first post, but I suppose its possible. There are some avid collectors of Quikold here. It will help to be very quick or have pockets full of cash to coax them out of hiding! Title: Re: Pelco 53 Jr. Post by: Lincoln22 on February 27, 2015, 06:15:24 pm Thank you! I am prepared to spend some money lol Are you selling your new find?
Title: Re: Pelco 53 Jr. Post by: BONOVOX on February 27, 2015, 06:17:21 pm welcome Lincoln to the site....
Off brand coolers are few and far between, and it just takes patience, friends, and like MaineT said... cash ready to go lol. Most here are looking for RC and Dr. Pep coolers... Welcome, and keep looking as they do pop up from time to time Title: Re: Pelco 53 Jr. Post by: MaineT on February 27, 2015, 06:23:08 pm It was my find, but Bonovox's purchase.... Teamwork!

Today I actually repaired the base of the cooler. I ordered new 1" channels and replaced / welded all the cross members on the bottom and for the support of the tank. The cooler has been taken apart, and is ready for dipping. The Pelco goes together a bit different than a Quikold..... not as easy a fit as the quikolds, as you have to "slide" the panels into each other.... which I think will be tricky once painted to not scratch the paint. Quikolds are a simple nut and bolt system. WIth all the snow we've gotten etc... the body shop I plan on using is FULL of crashed cars, so I was told to bring them in April ish..... As well, I am making "tables" for my standards and Jr.s so that I can put one on top of the other in a stacking manner.... thus able to display more in the mancave.... Yes, I have a problem  Title: Re: Pelco 53 Jr. Post by: Jared on February 27, 2015, 10:24:22 pm patience they are all out there.its just timing.good luck
