Title: Refreshing old paint
Post by: Gmari2 on February 09, 2015, 10:16:30 pm
The best stuff on earth to use when wanting to get the best look out of an original finish is Zymol HD Cleanse.  It's not cheap, but I've used it for ever on my unrestored antique car as well as original finish machines.  It's basically a combination of clay and exotic oils which remove all dead oxidized paint and stops working when you get to the healthy layer of paint.  Leaves the finish with an awesome shine and deep deep look.  No financial interest, just a big fan.  Like I said.  It's not cheap but worth it.

Thanks for the input, might have to give it a shot one of these days, where's the best place to buy it, Amazon or paint stores?

Amazon is the easiest.  Normal cost is $23. - $26. for a bottle of 8.5 oz.

Ditto!
I'll have to give it a test drive...

Zymal is top notch for the last step. A good product to get the first layers of spray paint/ markers etc... off is Graffiti  remover.
