Title: Odds and ends Post by: on March 09, 2005, 10:27:40 pm I'm trying to get all of my reasearch and find the places to get all of my parts and decal for a restoration. I figured before i just jumo in I might want to have all of my ducks in a row. Three questions. 1, does anyone stock RC Cola decals?
2. I need a bottle door for a vendo H90C, where do I FInd one or does anyone have tips on how to get one made. 3. does anyone know where or how to find info on La Crosse machines? I have looked for days and have come with a whole lot of nothing, save for this site. Justin P.S. Pics are coming soon Title: Odds and ends Post by: loman4ec on March 09, 2005, 11:02:12 pm Good luck on the lacrosse info. I have heard that it is really hard to find parts and info for the mahcines. For decals I would try www.sodadecals.com. They aren't on the website but give them a call. If they don't have them they might be able to direct you to someone who does. As for the bottle door I don't know. For something like that you might have to look for a while for someone with a parts machine. What is wrong with yours. if it isn't too bad you might take it to fabrication shop and have them fix it. It would be expensive but it could be your only hope. I don't know if it would be possible but I have a Vendo 127 door. It is way too tall but you might be able to cut it down and weld it to fit. Or even use it to fix yours. If you end up having to do that I will give it too you if you want it. I hope this helps.
Title: Odds and ends Post by: on March 10, 2005, 08:13:03 am Thanks, the door on my Vendo is missing. Before I was given the machine someone broke into the shop where it was at and tried to pry the machine open and took the door. I have talked to a local glass compant and they can make me one usinf the metal that they use to make shower doors, but I haven't decided hoe that would look. By they way, my welding skills stink. Ha Ha. Justin
Title: Odds and ends Post by: loman4ec on March 10, 2005, 08:32:50 am Justin I have an idea. There is a machine on ebay #3880516140 that I believe is a Vendorlator 90. I dont know where you are located but it is in Martinsville Indiana. That is about 130 miles from my house. It says that the machine doesn't work and the opening bid is $25. I don't see this machine going for much since it doesn't work and isn't complete. If you want to try to but the machine for what you would want to pay for a bottle door I will go pick it up and send you the door and keep whats left of the machine for payment for the 260 mile round trip drive. If this sounds like something you would be interested in please let me know. My email is jdloman2000@yahoo.com. Lets check with the rest of the members to be sure it is a VF90.
Title: Odds and ends Post by: BrianB on March 10, 2005, 08:47:45 am Josh - Yeah that looks like a VF90 to me, it's the baby brother to my monster VF117! One thing I did notice thought was that the trim is pretty screwed up and sometimes that can lend itself to a trashed door. But, for $26....It might be worth it. BTW, I live about 20 mins from Martinsville, If you guys want, I could always go take a look at it to see if the door is wrecked or not. Let me know. If not and neither of you fellas want it, For that cheap, I might grab it for the the nametag on the lower grill!!
Title: Odds and ends Post by: loman4ec on March 10, 2005, 09:26:09 am That would be fine with me as I really don't want the machine. I was just wanting to find justin a door for his. But I will look I might just have the script for you on my VMC81 that I am parting out. If I have one I don't want anything for it. But if justin is interested would you get that machine for him. If not I don't mind the drive as I have family that I can go visit in Plainfield. The more that I think about it I think my 81 is missing the script but I will look tonight.
Title: Odds and ends Post by: loman4ec on March 10, 2005, 09:32:56 am Well I found a pic of my 81 in an old post and it doesn't have the script so you might want to get this machine anyway.
Title: Odds and ends Post by: on March 10, 2005, 09:55:11 am You know, everyday I am amazed at just how kind and generous the members here are.
Josh you are a major asset to this group. You help us all in so many ways. VMC117BMB you are great too. Title: Odds and ends Post by: loman4ec on March 10, 2005, 10:11:48 am Thank you for the kind words Kito. I love this hobby and this site has been priceless to me and I like to help its members in any way that I can. I know that I prbably would have given up on my first machine if I hadn't found this site.
Title: Odds and ends Post by: Bob K on March 10, 2005, 11:43:31 am I may have an H90 bottle door for you, Justin. Let me take a look tonight and I'll post a pic if I can find it. Feel free to email me if I forget.
Bob Title: Odds and ends Post by: glassbottlesrule on March 10, 2005, 11:44:53 am As someone who's been fabbing shower door's for years I would never use shower door stock to make a door for a machine. It just wouldn't look right and any hinge you tried to attach it to the machine with would be a botch job. Find a donor machine and modify it's door to fit you will be much happier.
Title: Odds and ends Post by: MoonDawg on March 10, 2005, 11:45:32 am Still unloading parts from my weekend purchase. Just ready to trash some bottle doors. Most have Cavalier handle but one has a Vendo handle.
It measures 34" X 5 1/2". Could this be for a V 90? If so. it's complete with glass and hinge.. FREE Title: Odds and ends Post by: glassbottlesrule on March 10, 2005, 11:48:37 am looks like a 90 to me. I would be interested in the bottle stack and or shelfs if any picks it up,
Title: Odds and ends Post by: on March 10, 2005, 11:52:07 am MoonDawg,
Got a bottle (or can) stack and shelves that would fit in my Pepsi V-77? How about the glass door for a V-56? Title: Odds and ends Post by: BrianB on March 10, 2005, 02:07:05 pm Kito - Appreciate the compliment! Yeah, I totally love this hobby and if something is close to me or I don't need it, I see no reason to hoard crud I have know I will have no future use for. Plus I think it definitely helps the hobby to grow and especially our community here on SMC to kinda build a cohesion of sorts.
Plus I like to see others get a virtual smile on their face when they get a chance to resurrect or finish a machine!! So, If there is a general consensus between the principals in this (and some wierdo doesn't beat us to it) I'd have no prob snagging that machine and parting it out. Title: Odds and ends Post by: loman4ec on March 10, 2005, 02:27:12 pm besides the machine might only have a bad fan motor stoping it from cooling. You never know for $30 you might get a spare cooling unit.

No 56 door but 2 56 bottle stacks ans 2 C-64 stacks. I have shelves that I don't know what they're for. What is the overall length you need? Title: Odds and ends Post by: Yarochrehc on March 10, 2005, 05:39:46 pm Hi Moondawg,
Do you have a picture of the 90V door, I might be interested in it, mine has a broken glass? --------- Bob Title: Odds and ends Post by: BryanH on March 10, 2005, 05:39:52 pm Glen (or anyone) - I'm looking for 2 shelves for a VMC56. Also looking for the exact change light assembly (or some thoughts on how to make one?)?
Title: Odds and ends Post by: BrianB on March 10, 2005, 06:24:34 pm Bryan,
Could you post a picture of the correct change assembly you are talking about? I'm just curious and am pretty handy at electrical solutions. Before you go and spend a bunch of dough on stuff like light fixtures and bulbs that are touted by some as "the only proper replacement" and then find out when they arrive that they are the same part you could could purchase TODAY for 1/3 less at you local Lowes/hardware store, it's good to check here first like you did. I just got bit by that very animal myself and it ain't gonna happen again! Sorry to kinda' hijack your thread! Let's see what that correct change light looks light! Title: Odds and ends Post by: glassbottlesrule on March 10, 2005, 07:16:23 pm Moondawg,
I need shelfs for a square-corner110. They are 22 inches long. Title: Odds and ends Post by: Bob K on March 10, 2005, 08:09:52 pm Justin,
I found the V90 door. It's in very good shape with just some surface rust at one end. Very solid. No hinges on it, though. Here it is: It's yours if you want it. No charge just pay shipping. Let me know and I'll hunt around for a box that will work. Hope this helps. Bob Title: Odds and ends Post by: on March 10, 2005, 08:37:24 pm Bob, let me know what the shipping cost is and your address and i will be more than happy to send a check or money order. I have been looking for this door for years!!!!!!!!!!. Thank all of you for your knowledge and insight. I will hopefully post pictures of both machines for all to see. The vendo is in original condition, a little rough but very pretty to me.
another thought. How about a location to post spare parts, kinda like a vitual swap meet? Title: Odds and ends Post by: BryanH on March 10, 2005, 10:07:01 pm Brian -
I think my main problem is going to be mechanical. The machine already has a pigtail coming out of the Jones plug junction box (same place where the light pigtail comes out). Here's the mechanical socket... Looks like two bulbs. Each with a socket that is 7/8" to 15/16" in diameter with two keying notches. Title: Odds and ends Post by: vendobaldtops on March 10, 2005, 10:36:44 pm VMC,
I have the script if you need it...no prob. If you say my recent Grapette posting, and as Kiti made note of, my work station is not the most organized. However, that being said, I did not throw it away....I am going to the War Room this weekend and will not surface until I find it. Title: Odds and ends Post by: vendobaldtops on March 10, 2005, 10:37:56 pm Sorry, I can't type tonight...

LunarCanine, How much for the bottle stack? Is it complete? I will look into the shelf overall length. Thanks so much! Title: Odds and ends Post by: BrianB on March 11, 2005, 07:33:23 am Bryan,
Thank's for the picture. The bulbs you will need should not be rated 115VAC, Candelabra base E12 (Typically an appliance bulb) as long as it doesn't exceed a maximum wattage of around 6, you should be fine. Anything higher and you risk melting stuff!! Now, depending on the size of the locking tab notches for your bulb base's, they sell that style of base (Double Snap-In Spring Clip Candelabra Base Lampholder) at lowes for about $2.70 ea. They don't come with spade connectors, but when you run your lines (should be two seperate runs of (2) wires ea.) you should crimp/solder on some female spade connectors, strip the wire back about 3/16" (14 or 16 gauge wire, I assume) and crimp/solder away!. For the new bases, they don't come with any connectors either, cut the wires back to the desired length and repeat the steps listed for the female connectors only this time using male connectors! If you want to make the job look "clean" purchase a foot or a baggie of 1/4" or 5/16" heat shrink tubing (also available at Lowes) and cut (8) 1" peices and slide those on before crimping/soldering on your new connectors. If you don't have a heat gun, a hair dryer will do nicely. Or.....Somebody here might have a set of those for El' cheapo that could garner! But all in all, for bulbs (2), bases (2), Male 16 or 14 GA connectors (4), Female 16 or 14 GA connectors (4) and some heat shrink you should be looking at somewhere around $10. Keep in mind, if you order these from a vintage soda pop machine parts supplier, you'll still have to do the same moddifications to the wire/connectors! Here's a picture of the bulb base: Title: Odds and ends Post by: Bob K on March 11, 2005, 08:11:29 am Sure thing, Justin. It may take a bit to find a box that will work.
You can email me your shipping address to: keenan58@aol.com Glad I could help. By the way, I meant H90, not V90, in the above post. Bob Title: Odds and ends Post by: BryanH on March 11, 2005, 02:29:31 pm Jim - I like Justin's idea on adding a swap (or even a parts wanted and for sale) discussion area. Is that something you'd be willing to setup or should it go in one of the existing discussion areas?
Title: Odds and ends Post by: on March 11, 2005, 02:54:30 pm Yeah, yeah, yeah! I could totally see us getting a lot of use out of a "Swap Meet" discussion area.
Title: Odds and ends Post by: Jim on March 11, 2005, 05:56:54 pm Let's see how well it works out... I've created the section, "Swap Meet".
There's also the SMC Classified Ads too... Title: Odds and ends Post by: on March 11, 2005, 07:01:43 pm Jim, you're the best! Thanks so much!
Title: Odds and ends Post by: BryanH on March 26, 2005, 07:53:07 pm
Brian - thanks for the idea. Wasn't able to find the exact same fixture but they did have one with a screw on nut that worked. The nut (goes inside the assembly) was actually just a little too big which worked great as I trimmed it to fit the interior size and now it's keyed to fit and the base assembly screws on really easy. I'll post pics later to help explain... It'll be a bit of a bear to replace bulbs, so I'll keep looking for the snap-ins. But for now, the idea works... Thanks. Title: Odds and ends Post by: johnieG on March 26, 2005, 10:29:23 pm
you'll only need one socket, that rear sheet-metal housing (rectagular shell) was designed for "correct change only" lens, as well as a seperate partition on other models for a "sold-out" lens as well, I have a box of the correct snap-in type sockets somewhere in the 'Ol Soda Barn, I'll dig around & unearth them....the bulb used is an S6 size with a candelabra base, (same as a C7 night-light), available from 3 to 10 watts, 115-130volt@6-watts is typicle for vending machine use. a 10-watt may start to melting the plastic (as stated in the prior postings)...Here's a picture of the lamp in question... Title: Odds and ends Post by: johnieG on March 26, 2005, 10:53:48 pm Another issue I've run into is this, the generic "snap-in" type replacement sockets, dont always work well with a standard C-7 (night-light) size bulb, but the S-6 work well because on it's shorter length... food for thought...
