Title: Stone Candy Machine assistance Post by: SodaShopNick on December 27, 2014, 10:55:14 pm I have come across a few Stoner candy machines and wanted to get some thoughts on value. I currently don't own one, but would like to which is why I am asking for some help. The first one is, I believe, a 180. It is actually not listed online, but from a friend of a friend of a friend (not sure that is good or bad). Below are all the pics I have for now. He says it is all original, but is missing the mirror. From the pics it looks to be in decent condition, but the base is a bit beat up. He wants $650 for it which I know is high, but what is a fair value (based on what you can see in the pics)? I know he "feels" it is a deal at $600 so I am not sure there is much wiggle room.
The second is a Stone Jr. Unfortunately I am having issues downloading the pictures, but he says it is original and fully working, but has been repainted. It is hard to tell from the pics, but if it has been repainted it has been repainted that same green color you see on a lot of them. There are no pictures of the inside so I would have to ask for them, but he is asking $2K which is way high, but again was wondering what a fair value is (based on what I know right now and assuming it is fully functioning)? I have seen a few of these originals sell in local auctions (fully working and not repainted) and one went for $1200 and the other $1000 (two different auctions). Title: Re: Stone Candy Machine assistance Post by: SodaShopNick on December 28, 2014, 08:17:43 pm mygoose101, thanks for the reply. From the pictures besides the mirror does it look like anything else is missing? Also, besides confirming it works (including the coin mech) and no major rust is there anything else I need to look out for? Thanks....
Title: Re: Stone Candy Machine assistance Post by: Slapshot42 on December 29, 2014, 02:19:21 am It's the Stoner with the wider mirror which makes it a little less desirable.
The coin mechanism is there. Right below the mechanism should be a coin drawer the picture is a little blurry so it's hard to tell if it's there or not!! I agree with Ray $300-400 tops I wouldnt drive far for it or pay to ship! I would focus your time on getting a good solid price on the Jr. The Juniors are a great solid investment worth restoring!!
