Title: Coke Crate find?
Post by: iggybu on October 13, 2014, 06:10:15 pm
I found a coke crate. Wooden, slotted. The metal brackets that hold it together are not one I have seen...any idea?  The metal pieces are on the corners and along the bottom edge below the handles only. They have triangle shape holes on te metal part looks like the tab of each hole is hammered in to keep it together. Any ideas age and worth?  This one is Los Angeles and has a "B" on the handle sides

Don't know the manufacturer but that was their style/design... A few guys on a bottle site I hit was talking about them a few months ago.
I seen some for Double Cola and Pepsi a few weeks back at auction made like this but they were taller... didn't see them sell... they're different but
condition is everything... Seen milk crates made in this style too. I would think 40-50s by the ones I seen at auction the bottler had
been closed since the mid 1960s and there were THOUSANDS of bottles.
