Title: Lost key to vendo 81 Post by: on March 02, 2005, 04:29:25 pm I don't know that specific lock, but can't you (or they) just drill it out?
As for where the key went, have you checked the small child's diapers? Title: Lost key to vendo 81 Post by: on March 02, 2005, 04:47:54 pm I may have to do that..yes, I can order a whole new mechanism.. they use those on restored machines. I am just trying to avoid doing that if I can.
Title: Lost key to vendo 81 Post by: sodaworks on March 02, 2005, 05:30:55 pm Hello Maingate,
I would just drill out the lock. It only take a minute to do. Use a 5/16" drill bit and drill all the way through the center. Insert a large flat blade screw driver and rotate the tumbler 90 degrees. Very fast and easy to do. Take your old lock to Lowe's and match the length to a new lock assembly. It will cost you about 5 bucks. I hope this helps. Before you drill out your lock to the machine, email me and I can give you a couple of names to people that have old soda machines keys. They usually cost around $10. bucks if your are interested.
