Title: Cigarette Machine.
Post by: Sarman47 on July 27, 2014, 03:10:36 pm
Came across this the other day. Looked to be in great shape.

Unfortunately my father in-law just passed away due to lung cancer ( lifelong smoker ).

So it won't be coming to my garage.

Sorry about the death in the family.  Everyone in my generation knows someone who has died from cigarette related deaths.  My grandfather smoked for 70 years before he died of lung cancer.  I smoked off and on for fifteen years before I developed pulmonary problems.  They've cleared up after years of not smoking but you have to remember that cigarettes kill, not the machine that dispenses them.  I have a machine just like it and it is a very Kool machine.  I've had candy and gum cigs in there for over ten years and neither of my kids smoke.  There both adults now.

But I can see the point of not wanting to bring in a reminder to your wife.  I'm just glad my wife isn't upset about all my beer signs and beer dispensing pop machines because her dad just died from liver cancer due to drinking.  Bad choices end up killing all of us one day.

Thanks guys.

He was 76 and lived a charm life. Could never Thank him enough for bringing my wife into the world. Best thing that ever happened to me.

Larry, my Dad who was with until he was 91 use to say when your time comes, you don't have a choice. He was in the infantry during WWII and could never understand why men on both sides of him were dying and he lived.

I have the vintage beer signs covered. And yes there is beer in the coke machine.

Jeff

Love the signs and thermometers.  I'm still waiting to for a few Hamms signs to fall my way, but boy are they expensive.
