Hi All
This is my 1st post to this group. I am so glad I found this group.
I have a c4-96g cavalier. I am having a hard time finding out any
information online about this coke machine. It has a stylestar marquee
with a brown contact paper on the front. any info would be great

Here's a link to the site's info page for the C4-96. It's not much, but it does show a Style Star model lower left. Maybe yours originally had a red front?

Thanks Pixel for getting back to me so fast. The one i have looks like the one on the left
but with brown vinyl no chrome down the left side like the right one. could it be a transitional model
it has 4 selection.

The sign is Style Star alright. It looks like a model from the middle of the run, but it's hard to tell. It doesn't look exactly like any of the three.

Sorry there's not much to go on. Push buttons aren't as well-researched as slant shelf machines, I'm afraid. I will say this though. From my limited experience Cavaliers have an excellent cooling system. So I can offer that.

I'm not saying Vendo cooling systems are bad. Not at all, some of them still work great basically untouched after more than 50 years. I just don't have any personal experience with them.

Should I remove the fake wood grain contact paper and paint it coke red?
what is the easyest way to remove the contact paper?

I do have to say the machine get nice and cool.
but boy does it need a good clean up on the inside.
I will post more pictures the more I get into it.

Well, I'm not a expert by any means, but my understanding is that square top machines are not generally very valuable relative
to round tops. If you put a lot of money into painting the whole machine, you most likely won't get it back if you try to sell it.

The front looks like it's in overall pretty good shape. Looks like it's missing the change return bezel, and there is a bit of paint
loss in the lower left. I don't see any serious dents or rust, though.

Again this is not an expert opinion, but I'd say if you were going to keep it and enjoy it, do whatever you prefer about keeping
the woodgrain.

If you decide to remove the woodgrain, below is one thread describing a heat gun method. There are likely others, just use the
search function on the forum's homepage. Whatever you do, remember to use care and be safe.

Indeed, a good cleaning is a good idea. Make sure the machine is NOT plugged in. Check the coils for debris and clean as needed. The air that blows through the condenser, the lower coil outside the drink compartment, also cools the compressor. Keeping the coils clean is very beneficial.

       Well if Pixel is not an expert, he is pretty darned close. It's obvious he does a lot of research.  :happydrinkers:
