Title: Can/bottle vend rt v-56.
Post by: Creighton on February 25, 2005, 07:35:10 pm
Hi All,
Have a bottle rack and a can rack on the way. I would like to make the bottom 3 selections cans and the top 4 bottles.

Don't have them side by side yet but was wondering if anybody has pondered/attempted joining the two. Faceplate is an obvious issue as well as the vend detect cams and chassis.

Anyway, many been there done that folks here, so if not possible please let me know. Understand anything is possible with the proper budget but not the case here :-)
Thanks Much!

You could cut them and then weld the two together. I doubt you would be able to get them to vend for money but it could be on free play. As far as I know the only thing common to the two is the bottom linkage so it is going to be hard. As For your can rack I have been working an insane amount the past few days. I will try to get your rack out on Monday. 12 hour shift yesterday and a 14 hour shift today (10Am o 12AM) Yuck!!

I think you could vend botttles with your can rack. The "kicker" or little metal foot that pushes the can forward when you pull the tab, would need to be relocated or removed completely on the rows you want the bottles.

Thanks guys!
Looked at the bottle rack last night. It will be way too much work to try and mate the two together. Will give bottles a try through the can rack.

Well here it is in test setup. Had to drill new holes for the nibs on the back liner to get everything to match up. Just removed the vend control so it is in free play. Looked like a bunch of trouble to move the vend assembly from the bottle rack over. I can just drop the bottle rack back in anytime for "events". Vending bottles out of the can rack will require some parts fab. Not prepared to just cut off the arms that push the cans forward.

Looks like one could add the can vend parts to a bottle rack. It would be tricky though. Will run it like this for a few days and then the whole machine gets a good cleaning.
