Title: Not Soda Related, Venting….
Post by: mygoose101 on May 10, 2014, 03:32:25 pm
:veryangry: I deal in the 2002 Ford Thiink Golf Carts as a hobby as I do in soda machines. Sell many items on e-bay, locally, word of mouth, etc. I consider myself a very good and fair seller. I only buy and sell items that I know well as I believe it's good practice to stick to what you know.

I have listed a few cars over the past months and I always look on e-bay for other cars to always stay on top of the market. I don't know if this should bother me as much as it does but in looking at another sellers car this morning I saw that he copied and pasted on ad description from one of my cars.

I emailed him asking to change it ASAP as I told him I didn't want someone to see his car first then have that same person see one of mine down the road and think the I copied him. Perhaps this shouldn't be a big seal but to me it kinda is.

Ray,

I believe eBay has policy for this type of thing.  You should be able to post, and flag his listing?

That may be the case he is trying to sell it and then buy it from you . Have seen this before.

If it doesn't feel right it probably isn't. You did the right thing.

The pictures are not of my car, just the ad was copied and pasted.

Another weird thing that happened about 3 months ago is I sold one of these cars on ebay and was shipped back east. A couple of weeks later I was searching my local CL and I see my picture of my car in my driveway. There was a phone number in the ad so I called the guy and the first thing I asked him is if that was the picture of the actual car. He said no that his daughter placed the ad and found the picture off the internet. He said she choose that picture because it was the nicest car she could find so after hearing that it no longer angered me. I never told him it was my picture and I did end up buying the car that he was selling. Funny little story.

This has happened to me once before on eBay. Someone had copied word for word in the title and most of my description of something I had listed and sold. I complained to eBay about it and they forced that seller to change their title and description.
