Beautiful Survivor 81D on eBay!

Wowza, has anyone ever seen an 81D survivor as nice as the one up for grabs on eBay right now?!?
It is absolutely pristine, what a great peice!
Does anyone have any unrestored treasures they would like to post photos of?
I'd love to see what is still circulating in original condition out there...?

There is red overspray on the compressor, bolts, etc.

Doubt it's all original...even the inside silver finish is too nice.

Red overspray on the bottom tells me that it is NOT original.  As well, the insides are WAY too clean and silver paint looking to be original.  I want to believe, but I find it too hard to.

It's still a very nice solid straight machine, and without looking at it in person, maybe just the bottom was repainted?  I dunno.... either way a nice machine but I don't think it is truly an original untouched machine.

Completely agree! I've never seen an original with overspray.

Well.... it "sold" for 3000. 
Although maybe it's just me, but I am always sceptical when the opening bidder is also the winner of an auction when there are multiple bids.  Could this be a case of upbidding?  I dunno.... with the overspray on a machine listed as all original, maybe I'm overthinking things like the first and last bidders lol.

What's your thoughts?

I think someone should try to score this one. It has a nice shine. Maybe you can work out a better deal since it's missing some stuff.

         A brand new 81D right out of the box never had a gloss on it like that!   :biggrin:

It does look like a mirror. If it's listed on the internet as original though it has to be true.  :biggrin:

Machine was 3 hours from me...looked like it had been repainted...it sold for more than I expected!

when you pick up your restored 81D from me later this Summer, I'll show you my Survivor 81D.. and then you'll have seen the nicest one around.. Not to brag but she's kinda pretty sweet! :biggrin:

     Good question, does it give 3 nickles change for 2 quarters? Do you have a closer pic of the coin instruction foil?

I guess I should of been more specfic technically it's not all original.   The coin mechanism was electric.  Sorry if I mislead anyone.  The rest of the machine is ALL original.... I was more representing the overall condition of the paint, lettering, bezel, etc.
