Title: U-Select-It Machine...
Post by: Jim on May 01, 2014, 07:28:56 am
I really deviated from my normal restoration on this machine!
The machine is completely powder-coated in Sparkle Silver and Sparkle Blue
When the machine is in the sun, it looks incredible ! ! !
I posted a somewhat close-up with the hope of showing the blue sparkle...

Let me know what everyone thinks...

Looks great Jim,

Was that machine in need of any body work and if so , what did you do for that prior to powder...

I use that silver sparkle on my 81's.. shelve,s tub, etc.. it's a great look!

Thanks John!
And no body work was required. There is a filler that contains a lot of aluminum that is supposed to handle oven temps, however, I have experimented and results will vary...

Shane,
Since this machine is a "Square Top", I wanted to do something to help the overall look... The bolt holes are always on top, so I figured...  Well, you see where this ended up...

Thanks everyone for the compliments!

Nothing better then the durability of powder-coat. Great job, looks awesome!

Hi Jim!  Love your U Select It machine!  I see you are not too far from me here in FL.  I have a U Select It machine which has had what I would call an amateur restoration job done on it.  I have to pieces which were taken out and not put back in and the levers are jammed up.  Is this something you could help me with?  I have attached a picture of the machine.  Thanks!

That pops.

Is that one of the bases you had made? If it is you could never tell it didn't come with it!

Yes Tim, it's the last one of the reproduction bases I had fabricated.
