I'm headed up north for a week and found this one at a consignment shop for $800, I wonder if they'd let me test the compressor in-store. Is the power cord hard-wired on these or does it plug into a terminal block so I could bring in a cord and test it out?
Title: Re: Generic Ideal 35 Value Post by: Ltransam on April 11, 2014, 12:57:06 pm Bob Knows Nothing LOL :wow: I would throw in my trunk a 20 ft extension cord !! I always take a 50 ft cord when I go to Auctions Just For testing Title: Re: Generic Ideal 35 Value Post by: MoonDawg on April 11, 2014, 01:09:09 pm Extension cord is an excellent idea! That way you can plug in the compressor only...bypassing possibly a bad power cord or thermostat.
Title: Re: Generic Ideal 35 Value Post by: Slider-Bob on April 11, 2014, 03:11:16 pm The wiring plug is tied to a terminal bock, but if that wiring is bad/suspect, there is also a separate wiring plug that plugs into the compressor. Unplug it and plug your extension into it to see if the compressor runs. Make sure the fan is running, and if its not, don't let it run longer than 5-10 minutes as it could overheat. Running 5-10 min, you should feel the galvanized tub on the front inside area by the rack start to get cold.
Even at $800 its priced fair, but I like $700 a hundred times better! Good luck Tom. Call/PM me if you have any questions! Title: Re: Generic Ideal 35 Value Post by: mygoose101 on April 11, 2014, 07:04:07 pm I think even a generic 35 slider with no color would be in the $700-$800 range as stated but still having nice color is a added plus for the price.
