I have actually never met another human who was interested in vintage Coke Machines . When people see my little basement lined with these things they think it's cool, but I'll bet they're also thinking "Is he on some type of medication?" Bob Title: Anybody close to tuscon az. ? Post by: MoonDawg on February 16, 2005, 01:13:13 pm Speaking of next weekend, I will be in Las Vegas at the Coca Cola Collectors convention at the Plaza hotel. If anyone in this room is going, let me know. I'll be wearing my SMC shirt LOL.
If you're a Coke collector and haven't joined this club, you should consider it. I joined last summer and this is my second gathering. Lots of buying and selling, auctions, seminars and great people Title: Anybody close to tuscon az. ? Post by: Eric on February 16, 2005, 01:36:52 pm I know what you mean Bob.... My family and friends always say “neat” but their faces
tell another story.... When my wife and I moved back home the guy next store saw one of my Westinghouse coolers in the back of the truck and asked if I collected soda stuff... I of course said yes and he ask me to come over to his place... He had signs and bottles everywhere.... His main interest was Orange Crush.... That was 10 years ago.... He's one of my best friends to this day. We've done a lot of road trips and found a lot of great items....... Moondawg is right a lot of great people.... Some of the nicest people you'll ever meet are collectors! Title: Anybody close to tuscon az. ? Post by: Kevin C on February 16, 2005, 02:52:50 pm Hey MoonDawg

Post by: BryanH on February 16, 2005, 06:05:22 pm Creighton - I'm north of Phoenix (about 2 - 3 hrs) from Tucson, but will be in NY next week on business. Is your trade show work or vending related? I work from a home office... for you guys in the north, I thought I'd rub it in and post a pic of the office.

Title: Anybody close to tuscon az. ? Post by: Creighton on February 18, 2005, 06:22:06 am Hey Bryan,
Thanks for the OT reply!! Sadly not a vending related trade show. Mighty fine looking office you have there. Wish I had time to stop by. Doubt there is any point in you heading to Tuscon for an Art rubber stamp show. You and all others are welcome in San Jose, CA. anytime! Creighton Title: Anybody close to tuscon az. ? Post by: vendobaldtops on February 18, 2005, 10:13:48 pm Creighton,
I often visit my folks in the East Bay...you ever get out to the Swap Meet in Alameda? I have a bunch of machines sitting in the garage in various stages of tune-up. Let me know if you are interested in anything or know of anyone who is (goes for the whole group as well): Right now, I would like to get rid of 1. 110E 2 V39 Title: Anybody close to tuscon az. ? Post by: BryanH on February 19, 2005, 11:16:42 am AC - are your machines ready to be restored or ready-to-go. If they are ready to be restored, can you post pics and let me me know where you are located. I wouldn't bother with paying to have one shipped but might be able to make a roadtrip.:blues:
Title: Anybody close to tuscon az. ? Post by: vendobaldtops on February 19, 2005, 05:11:29 pm I'll post some pics as soon as I can...these machines are complete and working and ready to be restored or repainted.
Title: Anybody close to tuscon az. ? Post by: Creighton on February 19, 2005, 11:12:29 pm AC,
Let me know next time you are going to see the folks. I'm about a mile from the SJ Airport. Have not been to that swap meet. Go to the various flea market type stuff when have a free weekend so will check it out. Can't afford another RT right now but could use a can machine. You shouldn't have any trouble finding a new home for the RT's. Got a good laugh today. I was wrong about no soda/vending related items at a stamp show. Booth across had bags of new plain caps. Basically one hand full was $5.00 and 2 were $9.00. They sold quite a few bags. That was a pretty good markup. Another booth was selling pick your own 10 used for a $1. Sadly no takers that I saw on that. Hoped I'd found a market for the 3 or 4 pounds of the caps I've been dumping in a bucket :-) Creighton Title: Re: Anybody close to tuscon az. ? Post by: collecture on July 21, 2008, 10:33:22 pm One of my favorite past times is checking out the "Who's On Line" link and seeing what others are looking at (including guests). Sometimes some pretty good old subjects show up.
Anyway, anything ever evolve Creighton? I got a bunch of used bottle caps I'll give to you. :tounge: Title: Re: Anybody close to tuscon az. ? Post by: Creighton on July 22, 2008, 04:47:23 am There's a blast from the past.
Nope not gonna get rich off bottle caps. It is fun watching the views. Creighton |
