Title: paint removal
Post by: cohammer on March 19, 2014, 07:06:59 pm
Does anyone know a good way to remove the paint from my v-39 bottle door? I was afraid paint remover may be too strong for this plastic.

I had to paint some plastic breaker strips for a cooler.  I just used a scotch brite pad, than used a self etching primer to etch the surface, than a base coat paint rated for plastic surfaces...

just dial down the compressor on a cabinet blaster and lightly dust it.. paint comes off easily and just move your blast pattern constantly and you'll be fine

I'm just a newbie at this but I hand sanded mine and then worked fine too.

Just a newbie myself but if you are wanting to sandblast plastic you may want to use walnut shells or something a bit more gentle than sand.

If you were already aware sorry, I just found that one out the hard way for myself.

Good luck, let me know how it turned out for you
