Title: 6 case cooler question Post by: on February 14, 2005, 11:12:35 am HI - this is my first post - been lurking for a while. I have purchased 2 Coke 6 case coolers off Ebay that were somewhat local to me. The main door on both machines doesn't line up with the non hinge side - was this typical ? If not, i'm going to have to do some bending to get it back to where it was. Things seem to line up pretty good on the hinge side.
One of these days I'm going to tear into one of these. Thanks for any help Dave Title: 6 case cooler question Post by: on February 14, 2005, 11:32:35 am Dave,
I don't have an answer for you, as I've never had a Coke cooler (yet), but I just want to welcome you to the forum. It's great to have you here. Title: 6 case cooler question Post by: Jim on February 14, 2005, 12:56:39 pm Hello Dave,
Do you have to lift the cabinet door in order to latch it properly...? If so, how much is the misalignment? 1/4" , 1/2", 3/4" or more... OR is it misaligned from side to side...? Can you tell if one or both of the hinges are bent? Title: 6 case cooler question Post by: on February 14, 2005, 01:32:53 pm Can you post some digital photos of it?
Title: 6 case cooler question Post by: MoonDawg on February 14, 2005, 01:33:28 pm The hinges are attatched to the door with screws into wood. I would check there first.
Title: 6 case cooler question Post by: on February 15, 2005, 10:53:12 am Thanks for the advice - I'll do some checking on the hinge alignment. I don't have to lift the door to get it to close and latch properly. I'll try and post a picture - but it probably won't be until this weekend.
Thanks again. dave Title: 6 case cooler question Post by: johnieG on February 15, 2005, 11:06:34 am Moondawg is correct, the Vendo 6-case verticle coolers & the Vendo V110 as well as the V83 all share the same cabinet design, the perimeter of the door frame & the cabinet's outer edge are framed in wood, as is the bottle door, not a very good idea, the wood is usually Oak & holds condesation & rots-out, (Oak has a lot of tannic acid in it), this leads to a saggy door, & lots of rust on the hing-side, as well as the bottle-doors lower edge around the bottom of the glass window, sometimes the rust on the bottle-door is so severe that it destroy's the door handle itself
I own two V110 soda-machine's myself, & they both have this problem....and now you now wet wood+metal=rust Title: 6 case cooler question Post by: on February 15, 2005, 01:26:49 pm
Have you figured out a fix for it ? Is it just a matter of cutting some new wood or making something out of steel ? I haven't torn into mine yet, and the way it looks, it may be a little while. Thanks. Dave |
