Title: Greetings from Bangalore!
Post by: jholmgren on February 22, 2014, 12:09:24 am
Just started my annual visit to India this morning (it's currently 10:30 am Saturday here) - that's midnight Eastern.   It's tough being 6,000 miles from home for 2+ weeks, but I can say that they really do go out of their way to make their visitors feel welcome.

When I got to the office this morning, I found a stash of cold Cokes, Pepsi's and waters sitting on the desk in my office.  I haven't seen any bottles, seems like everything is in tall skinny cans (250/300mL) but it tastes like home!

Lucky man, I've always wanted to visit India, have a great time and be sure to enjoy a giant plate of butter chicken with a double side of naan bread for me lol, it's my favorite dish in the world !

Thanks Guys,

The people over here are unbelievably kind, and they do their best to make me feel welcom, but in all honesty - I really don't care for Indian cuisine, so it is a long 2 weeks.  Plus I stand out a too much here - being about 6' tall and of Irish/Swedish descent, I stick out like the proverbial sore thumb.

I will occasionally (like 1-2x a year) make Chicken Tikka Masala at home, but that's about the extent of it.

Jeff - I had murgh makhani (butter chicken) for lunch today... I think.   :tounge:
