Title: V-63 vend door seal wanted
Post by: Paul M. on February 11, 2005, 12:49:44 am
The door seal for my vend door has become hardened.  So I'm looking for a replacement that is in good shape.  Anyone have a parts machine that has a good one?  What do you want for it?

Shouldn't this be in the "Post 60's" forum?

Markito,
I thought about that.  But I don't seem to get very much response in that forum.  And I also thought most folks who frequent this site probably have the "New Posts" link set as a favorite like I do so it probably didn't matter anyway.  But I'll try to put my posts in their proper place next time.

Terry,
Thanks, I'll do that.  I did look at Soda Jerk's website but all they had was stuff they sell by the foot for the V-63.  Is Funtronics' the same product?

Paul,
Yes the gasket material is sold by the foot. It is not offered yet as a one piece vulcanized gasket. It is really easy to put one together. Just cut the gasket ends at a 45 degree angle and super glue the corners together to form a 90 degree angle. I recently did this for a 56 and it turned out really nice. Here's a tip for you, I cut some approx. 6" squares from sheet metal that I inserted into the corners to keep the gasket properly aligned, you can also use tape to hold the gasket to the sheet metal. I glued two pieces together at a time and the next day I joined the two sections together. This worked good for me. I hope this helps. Terry  ???
