If it does cool then its a $2500 machine. If it doesn't cool there are plenty $200 square machines that use the same compressor to put one in that machine so no, he did not pay too much, nor is he asking too much.

Rewired it, cleaned and regreased the coin mech, made a free iPad video and posted to youtube, listed on big online auction and three big local cities on clist..........all these things helped gain exposure and the best price.
