Title: Questions about my slug rejector Post by: bigtruckguy on January 09, 2014, 12:47:07 pm The slug rejector from my 10 cent 1953 Vendo 39 looks different from almost everything I’ve seen on the internet. First, mine has both magnets on the back instead of one on either side. Why is mine different? Second, I have the small plate held on by the spring clip on the front top. I guess it clears the nickel “hole” test. Most of the ones I have seen do not have this plate. Do people remove them for some reason? Are they problematic? Easily lost? After some work I got this one to operate perfectly.

Not exactly sure why the differences, but most likely to suit different applications or space restrictions. That may not be the slug rejector originally installed on your machine - who knows? This is the knockout arm, which are just easily lost I guess as they are missing many times. Their purpose is to knock a washer off the washer retainer wire or any oversized coin that may get stuck in the cradle, but it should not interfere with any coins if it is seated properly. |
