Title: What is it? Post by: dtrappii on December 31, 2013, 10:53:11 pm I am trying to identify this cooler that i just bought! The tag says Cavalier with a serial # but no model. It is a wet machine with stainless liner. Has all the original Frigidaire system, runs but no cooling. Very little rot and perfect top doors! It looks a lot like several other machines but I have not found one single picture anywhere of the same machine! Can anyone help me out!!
Thanks! David Title: Re: What is it? Post by: dtrappii on December 31, 2013, 10:54:53 pm Couple more pics!

Title: Re: What is it? Post by: dtrappii on January 01, 2014, 12:32:05 am Mine has an internal cap catcher with the small drawer at the right bottom. Does not have the chrome front lid and no access door at the lower left front!! I have looked for hours on the net and cannot find another one like mine!
David Title: Re: What is it? Post by: MaineT on January 01, 2014, 09:53:54 am Post a picture of the data plate. It may help. It could be a later version of what you are seeing out there like Slapshot pointed out.... Or it's the rarest Cavalier cooler in the existence of mankind!!!! :tounge:

I'm in the process of researching these old coolers right now. What you have is a Cavalier Master Wet Cooler, model name is CM-6W. It was built in 1946-48. The date code is embossed on the back tank wall, above 'WATER LINE' embossment. You can find online a Cavalier Cooler service manual that includes your model. Might even be available on this site. Good luck and have a good one. Ted Title: Re: What is it? Post by: dtrappii on January 01, 2014, 07:09:30 pm You are right! That is a 1960 Healey 3000 MK I next to the WD-5 cooler and Fry May West gas pump! I have too many projects!

Thanks so much! Now I know what to look for in the way of parts and info. There is "CC-51" embossed above the "WATER LINE". Any idea what that means? Thanks, David Title: Re: What is it? Post by: tkaz on January 01, 2014, 07:20:52 pm David,
I can email you a manual for them if you PM your email address over to me. They are available as a site download, but you need a certain amount of posts (100 I think) before you can access. |
