Title: Cavalier 51 question
Post by: loman4ec on January 31, 2005, 03:37:32 pm
I might buy a cavalier 51 that is in rather rough cond. It doesn't work but it complete. WHat is it worth? well actually it is a craps shoot they won't plug it in to test it.

Ah ha! That old trick! Surprised they didn't just cut the cord like every other sneaky seller.

just bring your own heavy duty extension cord & a small portable generator, that'll hush em' up! ( if it's in a out-building without power, just in case) or skip it & tell them you'll give 'em $200.00 as a parts machine (IF it's complete)
Cavalier compressors , at least on earlier C51's seem to be pretty tough, they mostly suffer for missing "ammo" belts & frozen coin-mechs, and of course , rotten brittle wiring. oh & defective evaporator motor's ( HINT, HINT, )  ??? I have one listed in the classified's if you need one..

Well it is on greed bay and I think I am going to pass on it. It is at a place that people take their stuff to to sell for them on ebay and they refuse to plug it in. It is complete but it is now over $150 and I was only willing to pay $150 for it. I was just going to part it out but I guess the only thing worth parting on it is the ammo belt. Oh well.
