Title: Seeburg Jukebox (1930's)
Post by: Slapshot42 on November 01, 2013, 11:55:51 am
Had a seller call me this morning stating they had a 1930's Seeburg Jukebox for sale.

I'm still waiting for pictures but she stated that plays 78 style records at 10 selections.

Anybody know a good website for the jukeboxes for information?

I've got a couple as favorites at home. I'll post them here once I get home from work.

Sounds like a Trashcan Seeburg. Need pics but if not complete chasing parts will get spendy.

Trashcans were post war ( 1946-48) and  had 24 record trays.
Early jukes played 10, then moved to 12
Creighton is correct, check the vendors for parts. Much like pop machines only parts for the most popular models are repopped

Don't own a juke, know much about them and don't really desire to, but....
I can more easily understand parts missing from a soda machine than the juke. Take the drum out and put shelves in to make an extra frig, remove the mech and have it free vend, etc.
What is the incentive for someone to remove parts from a juke? What are the most common missing pieces? Amp? Speaker?

plastic shrink and crack after years. wiring is almost 80 yrs old.. coin  gear is often removed or lost.   Amp will need to be recapped, not a big deal. May have  wood damage, and bad veneer. Tone arms can get pricey depending on the model

A picture is worth a thousand words....could be a dog, or a Grand Slam.

I have found that back doors are often missing too. Big problem if its a Seeburg.

Noy a deal breaker in my opinion  Dave, The early machines back door was was usually plywood.

Forgot, Better darn well buy and read Ron Richs manuals before asking even the time of day on the seeburg site :-).
I agree with how they help folks out. A juke is a serious undertaking.
Hope it is a grand slam.
