Title: Converting a bottle door.
Post by: Pixel on October 08, 2013, 05:39:41 pm
How difficult would it be to convert a Cav USS narrow-view bottle door into a wide-view door? Would cutting out the difference work? Could I have a machine shop do it for me? About how much would it cost?

Not worth the effort.
Hang tight, a wide door will turn up.

You mean hang tight for just the door, or the whole machine?

Yes

That was informative, johhnie.

Seriously, I guess you meant either/or would show up sooner or later.

When these machines were sold new in circa 1982, was the wide-view scripted door an extra-cost option, like the lighted marquee?

I seem to be in the wrong place to find them. I've only seen one USS machine of any sort for sale within 80 miles in 3 months, and it was a wreck.
