Title: Coin Door Rubber Seal
Post by: jrwienri on September 20, 2013, 09:07:37 pm
Another question on my 81. I know there is supposed to be a rubber seal at the top of the coin door. Not seeing this for sale at the usual sources or missed it. What does it look like and where can I get it?

Thanks, Jeff

I do not think so Jeff. There is one under the bezel.

Hey Tom from what I understand there was a rubber at the top that is pinched inplace by a plate that bolts to the inside with the bezzel. It was there to protect the inards from rain water. I remember seeing pieces of a chewed up rubber when I took the machine apart but cannot find it in my old parts. I have seen photos of other big coin door machines with some sort of rubber but none good enough to see just what it looks like. We need to do lunch some Saturday and you can see all of my junk... LOL
Cheers, Jeff

I think most people just don't put the rubber seal back in place.  Don't really need it if the machine is not going to be outside.  Kind of like the coin block heater.  I still have the one from my 81 but I did not reinstall it after redoing the machine.  There is nothing really unique about the shape of the seal.  Just a rubber strip sandwiched to the upper lip of the coin door by a strip of metal under the coin bezel screws
