      It's actually made by American Vendor, even has it on the ID plate in his pictures but Splendor sounds cool too!  :biggrin:

That is neat. There must be a 7UP collector on here that will want this. Very unusual looking.

Square front AV 124 are very rare to find. I have had my OrangeNesbitts AV 124 since 1999ish. It cools like a dream. The only part I am missing is the stainless steel spear trim. Paint is faded with very little surface rust. No rust holes. They used alot of wood on internal structure.  They are very neat machines. The 124 model was released in 1949. The front door was added in design to make loading of machine easier, plus working on  the compressor system easier too.

Steve, Do you know if they made the AV 124 for Pepsi or Coca Cola? Just curious..

Model 120 and 124 were produced for  Nesbitt's,cliquot club, hood's, coke, 7up, hires, spur cola dr pepper,squirt, lyons rootbeer, whistle, red rock cola, pepsi, cobbs florida, sun-spot, wonder orange, rummy, o-so grape, orange crush, nichol kola, mission orange, cal- cola, bireley's, grapette.  Model 124 replaced the 120 model. Pepsi bottler in alaska purchased 40 units of 124's.

Would love to see the Nichol Kola version

The coolers were painted in standards colors. All units were decaled by the bottler or by AV if the bottler sent the decals to AV. Custom color was available if the bottler order at least 25 units of that color.

It maybe rare but I don't see anything in that machine.

The serial number on my 124 model is L4-2102. I have tag from a model 120 and its serial number is 7405. The 124 in Vegas looks like it has rust holes  around bottom of the cabinet and around the top front side of cabinet. Somebody at one point cut out the double set of louvers in the front door.

Yes both models are not very popular with collectors but I like unusual machines. My 124 came from Florida cost $500 for it and about $300 to have it shipped. That 7up is the 3rd one of model 124 I know of.

there may be another one of these around Montgomery, Al. While bringing my 7up 63 back from La. I stopped by a friends who said she had mentioned to her neighbor I was picking up a vending machine and she said she had one in storage that belonged to her Grand-Father and was very unusual in that it had a hand crank on top. So,,guess I need to go check this out and see what's what. Probably similar to hearing about a Model A Coupe, calling the owner only to find it a 50 Ford.LOL

Rebel, Then again you could call and be suprised it's a mint Icy-O with a crank handle on top. Of course if your to busy I could call and find out for you.  :biggrin:

Or a pepsi deepfreeze with the Roulette top. Watch it is probably a vendo 23.
