Title: U select it manual
Post by: zadd on August 30, 2013, 08:52:03 pm
I was wondering if anyone had one the can email me or where to get one.

I just picked up a complete machine with a few issues .
The coin mech was just laying inside and I need to know how it sets inside . It is a little out of shape from being broke into .
When you push down the lever the rod that opens the vending door doesn't push the flap open .

Thanks
Vince

Hey Vince.
I don't have a book on them, but have restored a few of the U select It Candy Machines.
Did you have a candy bar in loaded when you tried to vend it? The door won't open without one.

I can try to send a few pics of how the mech sits. what's your email?

Vince,
I'll take a look at mine as well and see about a photo or two...
Perhaps you could post a photo or two showing the issue...

Can't speak of how it mounts since I've never owned a U-Select-It, but I can tell you that the rejector looks weird.

It looks like a quarter rejector on the front; however, it has some second coin parts on the back but a single coin main plate. It appears that they were needed in order to mount the rejector onto the mech. I am guessing that from the way the rejector is mounted that originally it was a 10c mech and had a nickel/dime rejector in it. Not being familiar with the mech though, I do not know what they may have modified to make it work on quarters.
Have you tried nickels or dimes in the mech?

After further inspection it is a quarter mech cobbled into this mech . The bottom system is correct but has been modified to accept the quarter.  The little chrome piece where you put the dimes and nickels in has been enlarged for a quarter.  Anyone have one of those ?
I guess I might have to send this off to collecture to get it back the way it should be .

I will definety do that . I need to get your stand back to you as well . I bought a complete working mech off eBay the other day so I have that part figured out . It's all torn down right now having the body work done .

Did you ever find a manual for it?

Please let me know if you find one! I have two machines that need some attention. I'll probably just start carefully disassembling otherwise. Other machine had been tipped on it's head and there are dimes stuck everywhere!!! Good thing it was cheap. Every time I move it, more dimes fall out. So far my purchase price has been reduced by a dollar and thirty cents LOL!!!

There's not much to them . It comes apart pretty easy . The hardest part was removing the chrome lever . But I would still like a manual .

I just purchased an original U-Select-It Manual that covers a few models...
I'll keep you posted after it arrives...

Yes, it was on greedbay.  He had two of them, the other is alter version...
I did receive it today and see that this is also a later model manual; however, looking at the interior exploded images reveals close similarities.  Most changes appear to be cosmetics...  We'll see when I begin re-assembly and adjusting...

Does anyone have any advice on getting the whole coin chute back in the machine (what is pictured on page 1 of this thread).  I just picked up a machine with some of the parts in a box and I'm having trouble removing the knobs to get it out of the case but I'm wondering if it's possible to get the coin gear/chute back in without removing the whole assembly.  I see where it should go but it gets stuck on a latch on the way in, also it's tough to see what it hooks up to in the bottom.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Pretty simple . It just has a few screws on a bracket . The mech goes in as a complete assembly and hooks on a center bar . You put the mech in from the front door .

I see where the chute and coin mech go however if you look at the attached there are some things in the way.  Is it possible that this machine is stuck mid-cycle?

You may have a different style than mine but it looks like you have some bent pieces or broken in the way .

I think it's the same model, your picture is from the front of the machine, mine is downward into the area where the coin mech, chute and collector sit.  I think my machine is stuck mid-cycle.  Does anyone have a copy of the manual (or know where I could get it) ?  I don't understand the cycle, I'm assuming the coin in the chute moves a lever that releases something.  It seems like a finger is in the way of the coin chute (not the mech)  from going back in the machine.
