The Minit-Pop pictured is an Oil Vat version. How can I tell? #1 - The solenoid valve that controls when oil is added to the vat is visible on the left hand side of the picture, also visible and attached to the solenoid is the dispensing tube that feeds the oil into the vat. The Hot Plate version still has the solenoid but instead of being fed via a tube into a vat, the updated plastic tubing feeds directly into the Hot Plate in the form of what might be condsidered a "squirt" of oil. #2 - The Oil Vat Float Arm is visible on the right hand side of the picture located directly below the Corn Cup actuator arm.
