Title: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: mack65az on August 25, 2013, 10:10:03 am I couldn't find anything on this site regarding an embossed or de-embossed Canada Dry.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300952001494&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 Is this for real? Is the ICE COLD BEVERAGES bow tie on the bottom supposed to be green and white? I have only seen red and white. I have the graphics for one of these, but the bow tie is red/white. Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: Ltransam on August 25, 2013, 10:13:20 am Ouch !!!! Way to high Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: halehouse on August 25, 2013, 10:24:36 am "De-embossed"? What does that even mean? Literally, it would mean it was once embossed and was removed.
Looks like a generic that was done as Canada Dry. Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: MoonDawg on August 25, 2013, 10:37:30 am I owned this one also, at one time. The entire sheild is "debossed" meaning stamped inward rather than raised outward.
The banner may very well have been red originally, but the owner substituted green to better suit the machine. The buy it now price is the MSRP..........it specifically says "MAKE OFFER" Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: mack65az on August 25, 2013, 10:40:40 am I asked the guy and he said the logo is recessed. I guess the "de- embossed" he is referring to is it being recessed versus protruding out. It looks like a generic in the photo, though. I've never heard
of an embossed Canada Dry, but I've only been in this hobby a couple years. Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: mack65az on August 25, 2013, 10:43:36 am Thanks Glen. Now
I have to find one........that i can afford. Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: Kilroy on August 25, 2013, 11:36:52 am Leave your contact information with the seller anyway. you never know if the wife will call and tell you to haul it out, or offer to sell it at a more agreeable price
Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: mack65az on August 25, 2013, 11:41:39 am That's probably a good idea. thx
Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: mygoose101 on August 25, 2013, 11:57:15 am My machine, when you asked me through e-bay your question I did say it recessed in as opposed to the the logo sticking out, I also said it was not a generic. I will say it here again, it is not a generic slider. I've been doing this for just a little while now and understand what a generic slider is and this is not one.
As for price regarding my buy it now being high as Glen said I have a best offer icon, that best offer can be anything. Again, I have been selling on e-bay for a little while now and know how to sell and it's my strategy on selling. I know most likely someone won't hit buy it now but I like to get emails as I try to do out side of e-bay sales to avoid huge fees. Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: mack65az on August 25, 2013, 12:40:47 pm You may know your stuff! Lots on ebay don't and I, being fairly new to the hobby, did not know if an embossed canada dry even existed. So, I turned to this forum to find out. Moondawg confirmed the validity. Mission accomplished! Don't take any of my questions the wrong way. I cannot take a seller (that I do not know) for his word without getting a second opinion. I think you'd do the same in my shoes. As for the price, I simply said I could not afford it. The price doesn't seem out of line. I get at least that for my restored units.
It's great this forum exists and I'm glad you got a chance to defend yourself, but don't feel we were questioning your intelligence or integrity. Simply looking for answers on my part. Beautiful machine. Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: mack65az on August 25, 2013, 12:45:39 pm One more question...Can you share the minty green color/code for the paint. I'm working on a GENERIC Canada Dry right now.
Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: mygoose101 on August 25, 2013, 01:11:00 pm Not a big deal, it's all good. Glad you found your answers that's why we are all here. As for the code I bought the machine as is so I don't know what that would be.

Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: mygoose101 on August 25, 2013, 01:44:56 pm Yes! It's funny you say that because I just one of those delivered to me this morning.
Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: johnieG on August 25, 2013, 01:50:45 pm If I'm not mistaken the Hires slider is debossed as well?? Yeah, I have one (a Hires slider) & the word "HIRES" is debossed. in fact it's the only part of the whole logo that is. Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: mack65az on August 25, 2013, 02:17:21 pm I have one also. Just began tear down. Maybe we should refer to these as Innies and regular embossed as Outties....okay, maybe not.
Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: MoonDawg on August 25, 2013, 05:41:35 pm Innies and outies..........love it!
Title: Re: Canada Dry de-embossed slider? Post by: halehouse on August 25, 2013, 08:06:34 pm Ok. That makes sense. "De-embossed" would be different than "debossed" or "recessed".
