Title: Vendo 63 Post by: Big W on December 30, 2004, 02:44:06 pm Can you adjust the thermostat on the 63 or is it pre-set?
Thanks, Wayland Title: Vendo 63 Post by: johnieG on December 30, 2004, 07:54:03 pm
Yes, Providing it's still in working order, or some yahoo didn't just tape the wires together.... Title: Vendo 63 Post by: Big W on December 31, 2004, 12:31:41 am Thanks for all your help JohnieG. Is the thermostat located on top front side of the coils on the inside? How do you adjust it? I know I'm a lot of trouble but this is my first machine and I don't know anything about them. I know a little about reading electrical schematics but thats it.
Thanks In advance, Wayland Title: Vendo 63 Post by: johnieG on December 31, 2004, 10:34:54 am
Title: Vendo 63 Post by: Big W on December 31, 2004, 01:23:10 pm I think I'm going to pull the cooling unit, clean out the bottoms, clean and repaint. The outside coils are dirty up inside not on the surface. So a good cleaning is in order. I was going to attach a photo but I'm not smart enough.

Title: Vendo 63 Post by: dr galaga on December 31, 2004, 03:48:28 pm So, which way is colder - clockwise or counter-clockwise?
Title: Vendo 63 Post by: Big W on December 31, 2004, 06:51:30 pm Here is what my coils look like
Title: Vendo 63 Post by: johnieG on January 01, 2005, 08:49:41 am It will depend on the themostat , but typically clockwise is colder, as are the higher the numbers (if any are marked on the face/knob of the control). one way will turn off the compressor, & the opposite way will be the coldest setting...
enjoy! Title: Vendo 63 Post by: Big W on January 01, 2005, 04:47:33 pm After pulling cooling unit I found that the condenser coil fan motor was out. Wayland Title: Vendo 63 Post by: Big W on January 05, 2005, 04:47:43 pm Just in case anyone is still reading this, The above motor is an exact replacement for a vendo 63 condensor fan motor. Mine is cooling great now. Also built a new fan shroud as the old one was pretty much gone.
Thanks for everyone's help, Wayland Title: Vendo 63 Post by: Kevin C on January 05, 2005, 05:37:28 pm Hello
No need to order these fan motors online. Just take the old motor to your local AC parts store. (McCalls, CC Dickson, Baker Brothers etc) they will have the fan motors for about $ 19. Kevin |
