Title: Vendo Coin Changer lost brochure
Post by: Gmari2 on July 03, 2013, 09:06:02 pm
Your the only group i can share this with.  Yesterday I made a 250 mile round trip drive to the Hagley library in Wilmington DE.  They have an original 23 page booklet on the selling features of the Vendo Coin Changer.  It is
Dated 1947.  Awesome document, which I dutifully made a digital copy of.  High grade color scan which I put on my jump drive.  Wouldn't ya know, the darn jump drive fell out of my pocket and is no where to be found.  Uggh.  Oh well.

Can you send the library a new jump drive in the US mail and they re scan and send you back a drive? Provide a pre- paid envelope for return purposes so all they have to his drop it in the mailbox!

I thought of that.  Maxwell, the curator of this particulr section of the library is a really decent guy.  He'd probably do that for me.  If i get it.  I'll post it for the group.

If I had to lose something, I'd rather it be a flash drive of the brochure than the actual brochure....

Yea, it really bummed me out.  Worse things could have happened.  Happy Independence Da to everyone.

That really sucks....Did you have anything on the drive "document wise" with your name? I normally name the drive with a 1st name and phone#.  I lost my far share in the past!

Nothing was on the drive except the Vendo Coin Changer file.  Didn't have my name on it either. :darn:

I bought it in an EBay auction from Vintage Vending years ago.
What I find most interesting in it is some of the changers have no holes to attach the plexi-glass (like on the cover). There are also some uncommon stands used.

I had a VCC with no holes for the plexiglass   I thought it was a error from the manufacture.  Thoses Cantanen vendors are really neat. BTW who smokes in a hosiptal?
