Title: Vendo 83 Credit Where Credit Is Due Post by: mygoose101 on May 20, 2013, 01:11:38 am We all bash the 83 here, myself included. There was a heated post here with a member and his 83, I'm sure we all remember. In that there were a couple of other members who defended the 83. Well, I finally saw one that I like so I must say this particular 83 does look very nice. They did a nice job restoring it both inside and out. Now we can have the discussion if it will be worth restoring a 83 but let's save that for another day. Here is the machine. Nice job, looks good. There, I said it.

Just as other threads talked about the C-51, if you are restoring it to keep it, then it's worth it but if you are restoring it to sell, it's not.

Title: Re: Vendo 83 Credit Where Credit Is Due Post by: bcharlton on May 20, 2013, 11:41:11 am I think what happens to many of us as we get older is we lose some appreciation for the single vend non slant shelf machines. I started with a Cavalier C-51, 14 years ago and I still have it in the malt shop but I don't value it nearly as much as some of my newer restorations. I was very excited when I got it however.
They are still great machines. Not everyone is lucky enough to have VMC 81s Just my .02. |
