Title: Installed Liner in My 81 Today Post by: jrwienri on May 11, 2013, 08:10:55 pm Installed my liner today. Tried somthing a little different to improve performance. 1/2" foam followed by R19 Denim insulation. Doesn't seem to compress as much as fiberglass. Not sure that's good or bad but got a slight buldge in the back of the machine. Not sure I want to redo it though since it's to the wall. What do you all think?

Really do not want to compress whatever insulation is used. Defeats the purpose. Sitting out in the elements I'd beef the door seals. Don't want that R16 Denim getting wet. Great looking restore so far. Thanks for the pics!! Creighton Title: Re: Installed Liner in My 81 Today Post by: Blind1968 on May 11, 2013, 11:25:55 pm Looking Good! 8)
Title: Re: Installed Liner in My 81 Today Post by: jrwienri on May 12, 2013, 11:58:40 am I switched out the denim this morning to R19 fiberglass. I just wasn't comfortable with the compression of the denim as it was really hard to get the liner in and it pushed the back out slightly. Way easier to slide the liner in once I changed to fiberglass and they are both R19 so same R value. Only took about 45 minutes to make the swap. The tape trick really works well. I think the 1/2" foam should help a little bit with R value and was cheap and easy to do. Moral of the story don't use denim.
