Title: A little help with my Bastian Blessing Soda Fountain
Post by: bcharlton on April 30, 2013, 08:03:12 am
Well my soda water is a little flat coming out of my BB and I need help with my carbonation system.  I am using a 10lb Co2 tank with a McCanns carbonator.  I have the pressure set at 100lbs (max amount reccommended) to the carbonater.  The soda water is cooled through a cold plate and is very cold at the spigot.  Could I have an issue with the Procon carbonator pump not working efficiently?  Could my Co2 level be down and the tank needs to be refilled?  I am getting 100psi at the valve so I am not sure that is the issue.

Any Help?  I know is it a little silly to have a working soda fountain in your home but I am currently seeking professional help to conquer my addiction.

I agree, start with changing out the co2.  When they get low you can still have pressure but flat soda.  Nice set up.....

Not strange to me I had a 6 head Cornelius in my basement working for 6 years. But it was strange to my guest.

No need to refill it, just check the pressure, if your tank pressure is over 600psi and the outlet pressure is at 100psi you have a different problem.

This could be any number of issues.
I'll take a wild guess and say that you failed to purge the tank of air and properly cycle the carbonator when you initially started it. but then again I could be wildly wrong too! :hopefull:

I don't know if you've read my post on the operation of a carbonator but you might check it out,

Follow the startup procedure in my post and make sure the carb cycles at least 4 times.  Cycles means starts and stops, it looks like you have a small McCann's carb so it should run about 3-5 seconds and then stop as your drawing from the fountain.
