SMC Discussion Areas

Guys, been thinking about picking one of these up. Problem is alot of the same models have different parts. Is this one complete? I feel the asking price is a bit high, but was thinking about making an offer.

Thoughts?

He is not that unreasonable on the BIN...

the lid is misssing a chunk out of it, and from the photos it does not appear to have any yellowing to the white areas , which was common on these due to them being in smokey areas... and the lettering looks complete.

I have one and really like it... I think they are the last "Cool" looking ones before the when ugly in the next few models after this.

Its missing a metal grate where you would set the glass to fill it. That's a piece that's almost always missing.

Is this something easy to find or a 6 month to year wait type deal?

I have one of these. Great display piece.  Steve Ebner used to carry the replacment lids when he owned Funtronics.
Not sure if they still carry it or not.

It's something that is virtually impossible to find. If I had to guess at a $ and time frame, I'd say it would cost between $40 and $100, and if you find one in less than 3 years it would be stellar. I've seen many dispensers over the years with different style drip grates on them so to say exactly how that one looks I'd just be guessing. But they are all stainless steel that have been punched and pressed. To me it's one of those things where if I wanted that dispenser and it had the grate it would be more of a deal maker. Hope I helped a little.

It's also missing the syrup orifice and nozzle. The drip pan grate will be a tough find.

I think I still have a few orifices in my stash of parts, I just don't have the nut that holds it.  FYI, the orifice is a small disc which sits inside a nut on the bottom just below the other nut and regulates the flow of syrup.

IMHO he's a bit high at $350. But don't let that stop you if your interested, I've seen these go all over the board in price.

Mine has the drip plate, I can take a picture and post tonight if you want to see what it looks like.

 Ill let you know if I pick it up or not. If the grate is impossible to find, I'll probably just keep on looking.


What would a fair price be on a complete one?

This is listed as the Regent model on this auction. The SMC site doesnt have this listed in the reference section. I'm guessing this is a complete model similar to the Citation? Is this price about right?

I may have a rack. i'll have to go to the yard tihs week to check. May also have lids.

I know it's hard to see because the guy doesn't have a very good pic of the handle or the front, but this is a Dole Citation.

The Selmix Regent used a totally different valve on their machines and you can see the different drip pan grate. The Regent handle is slightly different and the valve protrudes forward rather than recessed into the bottom.
You can see the grate has rounded corners where the Regent is square.  Dole and Selmix were essentially one in the same and the machines were very similar.

I'm no expert on pricing but my max on this would be $150 with all the missing pieces, complete maybe $250  It is in very nice condition otherwise, but then again I'm cheap.  I would need to see a picture of the front though.

How come there is no picture of the dispenser side? Where the pull/dispense handle is?
