Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: on November 26, 2004, 05:08:01 pm I have a Choice-Vend Pepsi machine and it works good except that it takes to two times for the product to be dispensed. Is there a way to adjust the augers to dispense the product the ffirst time.
help is appreciated. Shawn Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: johnieG on November 26, 2004, 06:39:27 pm Hope this little drawing helps,
Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: on January 09, 2005, 12:43:56 am The machine I have use to dispense bottles and has four augers for each row. I have adjhusted the guide out away from the back of the machine to accomadate cans versus bottles, so only a couple augers touch the cans. I only have one verticle row of cans in the machine. Have I adjusted this wrong? Do I need to move the guides back as they were? If I move the guides back it would appear when that can was reached the machine would think that selection was sold out??? The machine already shows sold out when three cans are left. Sure would like it to dispense on the first try. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks Shawn Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: johnieG on January 09, 2005, 08:54:34 am With most ChoiceVends you should have a double (vertical) row of cans in each column as shown in the diagram, do not attempt to move to rear guide bar (spacer) to have only a single row, remember, that even a "smaller" CV168 was intended to vend a couble of cases of soda per column between refills.
Yes, the machine will normally show "empty" when you have 3-4 cans left in a column, this is normal, if you insist on vending down to the last can, then you could screw-down the "sold-out" lever, BUT, if you do this & the last can cocks sideways in the column, it might jam the auger & strip the gears, or it may crush the can & you'll have mess on your hands. If you want your machine setup to vend bottles, then the delivery port (as viewed from the inside, just where the bottle would slide out past the swinging door) should be NO metal blocking gate(s) [a black metal, upside down "U" shaped plate, use to prevent someone from reaching up inside the machine & pulling a can down through the augers] if you don't remove these, the bottle(s) won't be able to be removed from the delivery chute, also follow the guide on the door to help you set it up to vend "long neck" bottles (12-16oz.) this setup of the augers will usually have you removing the rear auger...but if you're only vending 12oz cans...you need not bother with it... Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: on January 09, 2005, 05:38:29 pm Thank you so much. I should have known. I did as you instructed and it is dispensing just fine. I also move the sold out level to a lower level which will appear to allow me to dispense more product before being sold out. I will try one cycle to make sure I do not have any jams.
On another note, do you know if it is normal for the machine to only accept nickels and quarters. It does not want to accept a dime? Any ideas? Thanks. Shawn Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: johnieG on January 09, 2005, 05:55:24 pm Hmm, do you mean that it drops the dimes right back into the coin/changer return cup? or it's taking dimes, but not counting them? when the sales price is reached with Quarters does it give you back nickels for change (correct amount?) and what is the sales price set at by the way? But, it depends on what model your coinmech is, but it probably just need a good cleaning, unplug the coinmech from the big "Jones" socket, & then lift the two little latches on the upper front corners while gently tipping it towards you, it' s kinda hindged on the bottom corners, this will release the coin mech's "Slug-Rejector" (or Coin acceptor if you like), this plastic (sometimes metal) part may be put into hot soapy water, (NOT the lower/main electrical portion of the main coinmech!!!),
or it even can be put in the upper rack of your dishwasher & run on a "hot" wash ( don't let your wife catch you!), then use your air gun to get the water out of it ( don't blast it too close) or you can let it airdry ( I use popsicle sticks to prop-open the hinged parts, & gently wipe it down with a lint free cloth...this will clean the "rejector" & hopefully help your dime-reject issues.. if not, we can get a little deeper into disassembly of the other half of the mech, known as the coin path (passes the coins to the proper switches in the coinmechs lower half...) Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: johnieG on January 09, 2005, 06:09:58 pm this is for the Coinco model S-75-9800 A/B series maybe it'll help you...
Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: on January 09, 2005, 07:34:59 pm I have taken out the piece indicated and cleaned it in the dishwasher and blew it out with air. I still have the dime issue. It appears that the dime is dropping straight through to the coin return. Very confused... The back of the section I cleaned says, "COINCO" with 903030 below it. On the left hand corner the number 790-7 appears. Not sure if this will help determine the type of coin mechanism. Your help would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks again. Shawn Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: johnieG on January 09, 2005, 08:25:01 pm Check the side of the coin mechs' main body, it should have a label with the correct model no. ( the right side as you are looking straight at it)
Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: on January 09, 2005, 09:22:11 pm Unfortunately, neither side has a number. On the right side is a sticker from Coin acceptors, Inc. that shows the 5 - 75 cent noryl conversion sysmatic and the voltage of 115 and cycles of 60. on the botton of the main unit the number d901494 appears...
Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: on January 09, 2005, 09:42:57 pm I have attached a pisture. I have several more if one in particual would help with this problem. Thanks again.
Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: on January 09, 2005, 09:46:10 pm Sorry I did not answer your previous questions. The dime drops right through to the coin return box. When I insert a quarter it gives back the correct change, four nickels. I have it set at a nickel for price. I tried changing this to 15 cents and the problem still exists with dimes. I will attach another picture of the unit. The number is a mystery.
Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: on January 09, 2005, 09:52:50 pm I have attached a picture of the machine in case that might help determine the coin mechanism. I have no idea what model or even the value of this machine. Thoughts?
Title: Adjusting augers for dispensing Post by: johnieG on January 10, 2005, 09:22:29 am Yep! A picture is worth a thousand words! You have a Coinco Model S-75-9800/A (conversion) coinmech.
The Machine is a ChoiceVend Model CVC168/Pepsi 70's model Price is adjustable from 5-cents up to 75-cents per/Vend. 1.) Do the Coinmech's nickle tubes have at least 10 nickles each so the "Correct-Change_Only" light doesn't come on? 2.) With the "Slug-Rejector" removed from the coinmech. plug the mech. in & power up the machine. you should see & hear the two "Coin-Reject-ElectroMagnets" (called the "CREMS" for short.) they should both be "on" (both little metal arms with the "fingers" are pulled down snug against the magnets coils) they may both "buzz" a little (this is normal) 3.) If the 5/10-cent CREM [lower one] (see the attached diagram) isn't "on" then the mech will reject dimes OR if it's a little off ajustment/not seated squarely on the coil, OR it has a bent "finger" it would give the trouble you are having with dimes. on your's the Lower CREM's has two wire "fingers" the upper wire "Finger" is the one that rejects the dimes... the lower one is in the Nickles "path" |
