Title: new choicevend cvc-168 one stack is auto vending. Post by: itsmeed on April 07, 2013, 11:37:52 am Hey Guys. I'm new to this whole world. And I will admit off the bat I have the mechanical skills of a 10 year old, and the electric skills of a rock. So I really appreciate your help.
I bought a cvc-168 a couple days ago from a guy with a vending route who said he took it out of a location a few weeks ago in "working condition." I assumed that to be working commercial condition. But now it is obviously someone's personal machine, and has some issues. I finally got it moved in a few minutes ago and loaded up. It seems to be cooling fine. The coin mech seems to be set for a different price than the sticker, but basically works so I'll figure that out later. I did my best to follow the loading instructions, when I held in the loading bar, only one helix turned. I put coins in and as soon as it has enough coins, that one stack vends a single can without me pressing a selection button. Every time I put coins in, that one stack gives one can. That columns selection switch may be stuck or shorted. I'd see if the switch has a nut or fastener that's holding it in the "pressed" position. or someone has flip-flopped the wiring on that particular switch in error, compare it to the other buttons switches wiring. Electrically, they all "daisy-chain" in & out of each other so one bad or miswired one will have an effect on all of the others. It is also possible that the selection relay for that button is also stuck, it would be located in a long gray metal box that the coinmech plugs into, there is one relay for each selection button & a vending credit relay as well. Another possibility is that columns delivery micro-switch is stuck with old soda, & if the machine doesn't "see" that the soda has been "delivered" it will keep spinning that motor until the "cows come home". :smile: Be aware that every switch & relay on these early Choice Vends are at line voltage (120Volts) so be careful. It only vends one can each time, so it isn't a stuck delivery switch. The selection switch looks the same as the others, and I tried it with 1, 2 , then all three wires disconnected, and it still vends. All the fuses for the relay box are acting the same. Post by: itsmeed on April 20, 2013, 11:10:52 am I pulled apart the relay box, hoping to find something obviously blown or out out of whack, but they all look the same to me. I snapped a pic, plugged it in and it has one minor improvement- it no longer vends when that empty switch is active. I'll work on begging some friends with electrical knowledge to come over and test.
