Title: paint sceme Post by: cohammer on March 16, 2013, 09:39:29 pm I am looking to start this project in a few weeks .What kind of paint sceme would look good on this fridge.Has any one else done a coca cola or other soda scheme on one of these?
Title: Re: paint sceme Post by: buzz4041 on March 16, 2013, 10:04:12 pm I don't know about a scheme but I do know that they look real good with just a solid color and a bit of polish work.
Title: Re: paint sceme Post by: cohammer on March 16, 2013, 10:08:05 pm So I guess people still like a solid color like this one
Title: Re: paint sceme Post by: mygoose101 on March 17, 2013, 01:55:24 am You can do a red with white top like a coke machine and use right above the embossing as your break line. Red Coca Cola decal on the white and will look pretty cool.

Title: Re: paint sceme Post by: halehouse on March 17, 2013, 09:31:03 am I like the solid color. The turquoise is good. Maybe a yellow, or pink from that era. I'd say don't try to make it what it isn't. It's not a Coke machine, so I wouldn't try to make it look like one.
Title: Re: paint sceme Post by: krovel on March 17, 2013, 09:51:14 am Find out the year and paint it the color of a popular muscle car from that time period. No flames or anything like that. Just a solid color. I think those look cool.
Just my .02 Title: Re: paint sceme Post by: Smallblock on March 17, 2013, 07:34:55 pm I vote for solid.
The turqouise one is beautiful. I think the nice embossing should be destroyed if you paint the them. They stand out best solid. Maybe if you wish have two tone paint. Try one color at the cabinet and little darker or lighter on the doors. Title: Re: paint sceme Post by: cohammer on March 17, 2013, 08:39:56 pm well if i go solid I think I will paint it the same as my 1960 falcon,This is a picture of one with the same as mine may go with this.
Title: Re: paint sceme Post by: GreginNM on March 17, 2013, 09:10:01 pm I'm a big fan of that turquoise, but the green is nice too! I vote solid color for the paint job. I like that model fridge as well...keep waiting on one to pop up in my neck of the woods.
Title: Re: paint sceme Post by: jbrooks on March 17, 2013, 09:18:21 pm I love the turquoise also, i did my National in a similair color but you cant go wrong with that retro green to go with the car.

Nothing wrong with color coordinating. It will look great in that color. My 7Up machines are all white and that carries over into the flames on my coupe. |
