Title: Mills 65 value Post by: brasskey on March 15, 2013, 09:32:56 pm What is the value on these? Are they worth collecting? This one is supposedly all working and all there except for the two lock cylinders.

Don't think it has any collector value.
Title: Re: Mills 65 value Post by: Smallblock on March 16, 2013, 02:31:11 am Have no idea of the value. But i like the stainless ribs it remains of a 1015 wurlitzer.
If i have this i should paint it all orange and polish the trims (maybe paint the silver faceplate to black) an add the old Crush logo (white with black shadows) on the top. Maybe put one of the crush bottle decal i often see a ebay the, on the "black" faceplate. What bottle size does it vends ? Title: Re: Mills 65 value Post by: jbrooks on March 16, 2013, 02:06:41 pm those are odd looking but in a very cool vintage way. I think all pre 60's machines are collectible in some small way. For the right price I would grab it
Title: Re: Mills 65 value Post by: SIGNGUY on March 17, 2013, 09:03:39 am I don't think this model holds alot of collectablitly value, however it appears to be a nice orignal.. so for a machine collector, polished up and left as is, it would like nice in the corner of the collection... but as far as resale, pretty tough, so don't sink alot into it..
if it came up around me and I had room, Id give 300-350 for I supose for the decorator value... Title: Re: Mills 65 value Post by: GreginNM on March 17, 2013, 09:14:04 pm I saw that one listed as well and asked for better pictures, but haven't received any yet. Nice machine, but not nearly as popular with the collectors, it seems. Not real practical for home use, but I like off-the-wall machines. He told me it didn't work...
Title: Re: Mills 65 value Post by: cohammer on March 19, 2013, 11:27:50 am I think its collectable but not every one has ever even seen one.Like most collectables its what people have fond memories of.
Title: Re: Mills 65 value Post by: sc1101 on March 19, 2013, 06:44:53 pm That's a great looking machine. I'd love to add a 45 or 65 to my collection. I like the machines you can find for sale only a couple times a year or less on Ebay or elsewhere. It's all about the hunt and history for me. Now I just need to make more money to buy them all.
Title: Re: Mills 65 value Post by: aspbear on March 19, 2013, 07:46:21 pm I sold one that was in blue with a pepsi medalion for 400.00 but if you buy it take several friends with good backs to move it, the one I had would flatten my dolly wheels even when aired up. The Compressor looked like a #3 wash tub around...
Title: Re: Mills 65 value Post by: brasskey on March 19, 2013, 10:32:57 pm Guy wants too much and, though in great shape, turns out it doesn't cool like GreginNM mentioned. Thanks for the input everyone.
Title: Re: Mills 65 value Post by: MaineT on March 20, 2013, 06:00:55 pm Well, back in 1999 when the book was updated, before they all took the recent jumps in value, it was listed at a value of $750 in this condition. Its a rarity of 4.5 and according to the book ....of the post war Mills machines, the 65 is by far the most desirable.
So no, not everyone will have seen them. They were worth twice the "SMC Appraisal" before everything went UP in this boom. Its small, compact, and coca cola...but weighs 362#. Hold back from the crazy prices of 81D, yes, hard to get your money back of you dump $3000 in it for a restoration, yes. Worth less than half it was 15 years ago working and complete except a lock??? I have to question that one. |
