Title: Looking for a globe for a "You'll Like It" popcorn machine
Post by: brasskey on March 14, 2013, 07:54:45 pm
I know this is a long shot as these are probably the most broken or missing parts on these machines.  But, does anyone have a globe for an "You'll Like It" popcorn machine? I came across a local machine for a decent price but it has a galvanized metal top with a window in place of the glass globe.

Yes, that's it. The unit I found has the metal cap, but no globe.

You can reach out to this company Bars and Booths or www.bitw.com (back in time warehouse). You need to speak to Greg Robb who is their restoration guy. He might be able to hook you up but be ready because a globe like that is going to cost some big bucks. I was taking to him one time about a replacement for a Popcorn Sez which is similar to yours and he was thinking around $900 for one of those. If that be the case you may be better off buying a whole new machine. I've come close to buying one like yours recently and the guy wanted $450 for his and the globe was in perfect shape.

Anyway, take all of this for what it's worth and good luck with it Brasskey.

Thanks for the help. I ran across that site while searching around. I'm definitely not interested in spending a fortune on a globe. I just saw this locally and I've always wanted a popcorn machine. He didn't want much, but I'll probably be better off passing on it than buying it and hoping to find a globe. Thanks again.

Would plastic not work?  Most plastics shops can form a clear piece of plasitc into any shape.
