Title: Another Vendo Coin Changer...
Post by: Jim on March 10, 2013, 08:48:11 pm
Funny how Tom just updated his post regarding the VCC he found in Charolette and someone called me today with one for sale ! ! !

I think the price is a little high; he wants $900 and I offered $700-$750. He then proceeded to tell me he had $900 into it...
It is missing the original coin box and appears one of the magnets from the slug rejector has been removed(red circle)
Well, I'll put it to you guys...  What do you think...?

Here's a photo of the inside of mine, I don't think that one is missing the magnet, as mine works fine as-is.  I'd venture a guess that the magnet may be on the nickel path of the slug rejector, and since these didn't have a need for one they didn't include them.

That is correct!

Anyone have input on recent prices for a VCC...?
Is $900 a fair price...?
Last one I recently was missing a few things and paid just under $400... I'm finishing a restoration on it as we speak... Photos upon completion

I'd say $900 is on the higher end, but it is a nice original and everything is there.  If you look at some of the recent ebay sales the selling price is right around $900 for that condition: http://www.ebay.com/csc/i.html?LH_Sold=1&_sacat=0&_from=R40&LH_Complete=1&_nkw=vendo+coin+changer&_sop=16

In my opinion, there's not much margin if you are going to restore it, but it's about fair price if you're looking at it for a collection.

I'd say $2500 for the fully restored coin changer was a pretty strong price - note that was for one VCC - the early one. The $1250 price was just a paint job and the mechanism was untouched.
Hmmmm.....I wonder who did the mechanism?
