Hey All ,  Restoring a old Paidar Barber pole.... need a top glass globe... the round milk glass type. I know you can buy them online, but thought I would check here first, to see if anyone has one to sell me.

Thanks  Shane :help:

Love the old barber poles.  How are you restoring the old cast iron parts - porcelain, powder coat, or paint?  There is a company in Independence, MO that we redo the porcelain, I have talked with them in the past and they have done a number of barber poles before.  Do you still have the old spring powered clock motor or has it been converted to electric?   If you have a pic of the one you are redoing I would love to see it.  Heres one of my old Koken model.  It has an electric motor in it now, but I have the old wind up one too.

I picked up my globe from Lowes, there is a small section of lighting that has the glass globes.  I can't find the link to the Lowes one, but here's one from Home Depot: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-203066110/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=10+globe&storeId=10051#.US1WW-vwKWV

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the reply. I picked the Barber pole up yesterday. I have restored a few poles in the past, but sold them all. I would hopefully like to keep this one for myself. I say that about everything I restore LOL and somehow it ends up sold.

I bought it off a sign shop who has been in business since 1940. Not sure where they got it, but the man I bought it off took it all apart and installed a new paper inside cylinder, new glass, motor, and light fixtures. (It is electric)

The only thing that is not really up to par is the paint. I can paint it up, and make it look almost like porcelain. It is going to hang in my basement, so weather won't be a factor.

I attached a pic. I am also missing a cover-plate....

I checked home depot yesterday, they only had a 8 inch globe. Also checked a lighting shop. I am going to stop by Lowes later today. Thanks.
