Title: Vendo Coin Changer Bezel...what to do? Post by: tkaz on February 20, 2013, 12:50:20 pm Curious to get some input on my missing VCC coin entry bezel that's missing. I have pretty much figured that I'm not going to run across an extra one, so I've started to think about some other options to replace it. I have done some plastic molding in the past, and could make a decent replacement, but I don't really like the idea of plastic. I don't know about machining something, and I definitely don't have the facilities to be doing that work.
What would you do? Title: Re: Vendo Coin Changer Bezel...what to do? Post by: Marvin on February 20, 2013, 03:30:07 pm I think at one time Funtronics had some of those reproduced. It might have just been the larger part though.

Maybe try your hand at sand casting - lots of web info on it. Might be a viable option until you find the real thing? Title: Re: Vendo Coin Changer Bezel...what to do? Post by: Creighton on February 20, 2013, 06:26:05 pm Anyone have a pic of what it looks like?

Is the original stamped or cast? Creighton Title: Re: Vendo Coin Changer Bezel...what to do? Post by: tkaz on February 21, 2013, 07:38:33 pm Yeah, same here now that I am finally back to my computer. Here's the image I was trying to link to. It's a cast piece.
Title: Re: Vendo Coin Changer Bezel...what to do? Post by: Creighton on February 21, 2013, 09:52:03 pm That is not going to be easy. If you can get some pics of just the part, I'll see if it could be 3D scanned/printed. Debossed lettering doesn't work all that great with 3D.
Suspect it will need to mold cast or CNC. Will be tough to get the detail with sand cast. Creighton Title: Re: Vendo Coin Changer Bezel...what to do? Post by: MoonDawg on February 21, 2013, 10:16:10 pm Could it not be machined from a block of aluminum and polished?

Sure but that will be very spendy and a one off (unless a CNC profile is built). I don't know what type of mounting posts are required. Milling threaded posts is serious biz. Something like this would need to be shopped around for best quality and a discount for multiple pieces. Group buy kinda thing would offset costs some. Going to cost a fair amount of coin to reproduce that part. Creighton Title: Re: Vendo Coin Changer Bezel...what to do? Post by: SIGNGUY on February 22, 2013, 09:49:38 am Easy Solution...
