Title: Paint Color Code for Westinghouse Junior Post by: ClassicCokeLover on February 14, 2013, 08:47:08 am I am restoring two Juniors and want to find the correct "old Coke red" paint. I have one that's a Vendo and one that is a Westinghouse. The Westinghouse has the lift top lid which looks like it still has the original paint on the inside. There is a very faint ink stamp that looks like it says "Patent Date" in the middle.
Also, looking for feedback on painting the embossed four sides. Having these hand done may be too costly. Have there been good results with a tight roller? You will get better durability out of 2 Stage Paint ( Base Coat, Clear Coat) . I painted a machine last year with single stage paint. The color looked great, but when I wanted to cut and buff the paint it broke through the primer. I had about 1 quart primer blocked and wet sanded, 1/2 quart of sealer, and about 1 quart of red. Some may argue...but I was not happy with the result using a single stage paint.
