A picture would be helpful to know exactly what you are referring to. I am sure someone here will have the answer to your question. :drinking: Tim :drinking: Title: Re: Westinghouse Liner Identification Marks Post by: ClassicCokeLover on February 11, 2013, 02:17:35 pm Liners are stamped W-DIR and W-SIR. Title: Re: Westinghouse Liner Identification Marks Post by: 90grad on February 11, 2013, 04:20:14 pm Yes, there is a way to decipher the code. Here's the cheat sheet (courtesy Janet from Funtronics)...
The first letter indicates the manufacturer (W = Westinghouse) The remaining 3 letters tell you the month and year of manufacture. The code is RADIO TUBES... R=1 A=2 D=3 I=4 O=5 T=6 U=7 B=8 E=9 S=0 So, your would be: W-DIR = Westinghouse, 3/41 W-SIR = Westinghouse, 10/41 Title: Re: Westinghouse Liner Identification Marks Post by: collecture on February 11, 2013, 07:00:20 pm Did they close the plant in November & December?

I was wondering the same thing!Title: Re: Westinghouse Liner Identification Marks Post by: matthayman on February 12, 2013, 08:10:59 pm My Westinghouse standard has W-TIR which according to this is Westinghouse 6/41. Thanks that is very helpful.
As for the comments about Nov and Dec they probably just used more characters. W-RAIR = 12/41 Title: Re: Westinghouse Liner Identification Marks Post by: krovel on November 07, 2013, 11:01:24 pm Ok here's a pic of my code to the liner of a westinghouse standard that I just got. It doesn't have any letters.
What would this tell me? Sorry, just another newbie with a question. Kevin Title: Re: Westinghouse Liner Identification Marks Post by: Blind1968 on November 08, 2013, 09:28:07 pm Could you post a picture of the entire cooler?#
Also, look at the serial# tag. See if it possibly mentions being made by Caviler. Title: Re: Westinghouse Liner Identification Marks Post by: krovel on November 08, 2013, 11:18:14 pm This is what I got. I don't see a serial number tag, where would it be?
The only thing I've seen is the stamp inside the liner. Kevin |
