Title: Progress Cooler Liner Removal Post by: tkaz on January 28, 2013, 05:30:21 pm I picked up another Progress A1 Pepsi Cooler, and I am going to do a restoration on this one. First step was to remove the liner, so I took some photos to help some folks if you decide to try this at some point.
I ran a chisel tip across the bottom of the seam to give a better surface to lift. Then I was able to start lifting each of the seams by inserting a thin bladed flathead screwdriver at each corner, that was followed by a wider flat bladed scraper. The goal was to minimize the stretching of the seam, working all the way around in 1/4" increments. After the seams were done, I removed the drain plug assembly, and with a little coaxing the liner pulled straight out. Next up, cleaning it all out and stripping the paint.
