Title: Early Refrigerator Restorations Post by: ClassicCokeLover on January 23, 2013, 04:42:15 pm My next project may be a 50s-60s Hotpoint Refrigerator. It has that "tombstone" look to it with the tiny freezer that would hold a half gallon of ice cream. It still runs well, however the cooling system needs to be discharged in order to remove it for painting.
My main concern is locating the original style door seals. Does anyone have info on these? Thanks! :happydrinkers: Title: Re: Early Refrigerator Restorations Post by: Yarochrehc on January 23, 2013, 04:53:30 pm You might have to get aftermarket gaskets such as the Case Parts Copmpany. Title: Re: Early Refrigerator Restorations Post by: tkaz on January 24, 2013, 09:44:39 pm I decided that I want to do mine in some vintage colors, so I laid out the palette of '57 Chevy colors in Photoshop. I'm going to end up with one of the blues, just trying to figure out which one!

Title: Re: Early Refrigerator Restorations Post by: Funtronics on January 25, 2013, 07:30:07 am I vote for the 5th one. That being because red is my favorite color.
Title: Re: Early Refrigerator Restorations Post by: jholmgren on January 25, 2013, 07:47:49 am 2nd one says "57 Chevy" to me.

Title: Re: Early Refrigerator Restorations Post by: Kilroy on January 25, 2013, 08:37:50 am #2, but I am biased, that's the color I am doing the game room in. Like Jim Says, it says '57 Chevy'/
