Any idea on value? It works and looks complete with the exception of the cracked glass.

Thanks,

Joey

Would be wired to the nearest fire station. If pressed a switch box would show which box had been activated and fire truck was on it's way.

Firebox's sent a morse code to the fire dept to alarm a fire. Pre cell phones and before most people had a land line.

It IS for sale

Thanks

Joey

I will take some pictures of some of old fire boxes down at our old station.  We still have some old active gamewell pull boxes.

I also have an old call box for sale.  Will shoot some pics!

Cool Find Joey!

I have had a few fireboxes over the years.  This one is in my living room.  A few years back a few communities still used them.

Slapshot,  I'd like to see some pics when you get a chance.  What kind of box are you selling?

Marvin,

It's a smaller ADT call box...with a pull down handle will shoot some pics to add to this tread or I can PM you pics.

It's a very cool little box, also has the key.

ADT 1046A is the box model #??

I own a couple but not like that.  I restored one for my gameroom and took the guts out.  Then I put small very small racks where I hang up all the keys to the games.  It works out great.

Back to the Firebox in the original thread :-)
Well best I can tell it is the internal workings for an early Gamewell. Missing bell assembly.
Also missing the outside case. No worries found one of those.
Do need the original bell if anyone has one laying about.

Really need to know the operating voltage on these units. There appears to be a send Morse code firebox ID and keypad interface.
Will be great fun to hook that to my receive Morse unit and see what the box is trying to say. Should be here later in the week. A new fun project starts!!
Thanks for any help!
Creighton

I have a complete system from the bell house to ticker tape machine to the call boxes. I have a manual  from the '30's if you want to take a look at it.
