Title: First Pinball Machine
Post by: SodaShopNick on January 03, 2013, 09:25:28 pm
I am not a pinball collector or restorer, but ran across a 1979/80 Space Invaders machine by Bally and just could not pass on it.  It has the cool 3D back-glass and it makes that same noise as the original space invaders arcade game.   I have to say I just love it.

I saw a pinball machine listed in my hometown for $150 it looked to be in good condition but the ad didn't say it worked so I assumed it didn't....I figured I might be able to work on it and googled working on pinball machines.....I could tell real quick these little babies were way over my head.

Nice find and I would like to have one but not to restore...

It all depends on the motherboard, and inner workings, I have an "Old Chicago" circa 1974, really simple to work on, just light bulbs, and solenoids, so a little research on your machine, should let you know what you are facing.

Oh yes. They are.   Then you realize you need neon on the walls to play off the pinball tables.....

The older EM ones have a better feel to them than the newer soild state ones . Just my opinion after playing both . But I also love the old pac man and galaga cocktail tables so that machine would go awesome with those .
