Title: VMC 110 - only getting to 59 in middle of tub, however lower part of tub is good
Post by: Jonathan816 on January 01, 2013, 01:55:54 pm
I am having problem with my VMC 110, the unit when set to it's coldest setting freezes over as shown below.

I defrosted it with a hair dryer, then started it over at 3, however it only got down to 59 degrees towards the middle while being nice and cold on the bottom(low mid 30's I believe).

How is the air suppose to circulate from the bottom?   Barely feel any air passing over the unit when it's on.

Any feedback is appreciated

Looks like your evaporator fan isn't running, so it's icing over, the fans supposed to pull air through the front of the coils & blow it up the rear of the cabinet.  so pull the coil away from the back wall & inspect your fan blades & motor to see if it's running.

May be best to pull the compressor out.. doesn't take long, and you will be able to work on it easier...

Many members have built stands.. JohhnieG has the the mac daddy of compressor stands....

I just used some scrap 2x4's and some OSB that I had laying around for a bottom plate.

Thanks guys for the feedback, I will have to check it out later this week when I have time as tax season has officially began.
